This weekend at Donington in the British F4 race as part of the BTCC weekend Billy Monger rear ended another car at full speed which had just stopped on track in a blind corner due to mechanical failure.

Consequently Billy is in a critical, but stable condition at Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham where he is receiving the best medical attention possible. The medical team there are pleased that all Billy’s vital signs are showing progress and going in the right direction.

Due to the injuries sustained and despite every effort, Billy has sadly had both lower legs amputated.

Suffice to say while motorsport is dangerous, nobody wants to see this happen to anyone involved. Billy was a very talented and likeable young driver from the JHR Developments Squad I had the pleasure of meeting last year at Oulton Park. The teenagers that race in F4 are learning the driving and PR skills they'll need to progress into F1 eventually.

By the way, interesting to note from the NASCAR website that Ford are going with a Mustang look this year rather than Fusion. Pig Ugly but so is the Toyota Camry to be fair. Chevrolet have the better looking challenger of the three brands and no sign of Honda still despite them expressing an interest in the series for the last couple of years running.

It's pretty much all Chiron underneath with a one-off body for a very lucky and very rich owner (rumoured to be a member of the Porsche family previously ousted from the VW board) but my god is it a thing of beauty. I personally thought the Veyron and Chiron were ugly but this one is the by far the best thing to come out of VW group in years.

I have to take the screenshots in the last few seconds before the clock reaches zero or the order really does get messed up. Don't panic though because the above finishing order is correct and Martelprod's a very clever statistician

If you were wondering who my stadiumcar skin's driver Maldwyn 'Tom' Pryce was and can access BBC iPlayer then check out this short documentary from BBC Wales. He could and should have been World Champion at least once if not multiple times. He was already signed for the McLaren seat instead filled by Alan Jones after Tom's unfortunate death. Alan went on to win the 1980 World Championship for McLaren in a pretty much unchanged car versus it's 1979 specification.

Already watched this kind of competition IRL, and exhaust/engine sound were so exciting

I'm lucky enough to have one of the best Wales Rally GB stages very close by, just over the next valley is the famous Clocaenog Forest and we go and support the drivers each time there's a rally whether it's the WRC, National or Local events. I've driven the roads but not at those speeds. We are also within driving distance of Llandudno where the Great Orme stages are held.

There's also a garage that specialises in servicing modern and vintage Rally Cars as well as over high performance Japanese imports so it's common to see and hear them testing them on the roads around here.

This is a nicely re-mastered model by Shop from trackmania-carpark. However, it needed a better engine as it sounded more like a Ferrari 458 than Zonda so after a bit of playing with audacity this is what I came up with. It's not 100% accurate but it's as close as I can get it with TMUF's sound rendering.

I have the cheapo version without all the DLC. All I'm interested in is the game play really, not what cars I can drive. It is possible to drive any other AI player's car when you sign for a Team or create your own. I chose the latter for the first two seasons. I may use an existing car next time. Not sure if I will change formula again yet as pickups is hard racing but fun

grafics seems good quality cars show great. and about handling? i read that game likes steering simulation. will be a good game for me. i dont found a demo version for check. and i check requirements of this games. idk if my cpu is strong enought ^^

Your machine is certainly capable bru as the game uses Unreal Engine 4 and if I'm not mistaken you have an 8th or 9th generation Intel Core processor. It will run on pretty much anything from the last decade, it should actually run better than Mania Planet does.

Unfortunately you missed the recent free weekend on Steam which I posted about in the shoutbox on the forum. That's when I tried it out and bought it very heavily discounted (58% off normal price) as did Herby.

Handling and Physics are very good, there are adjustable levels of assistance so it can be played with KB, controller or steering wheel and pedals. I use the 'normal' assistance setting at present as a noob in the game but I don't think with a controller anything higher would be possible. With KB I reckon you'd have to use 'casual' mode which is maximum assistance.

I would like to get a new wheel at some point though, my old Logitech one stopped working last year.

Despite the option being available I really wouldn't recommend using a KB though, it's a Console game ported to PC platform. I've played around 5 hours now and am enjoying it the more I play it. I will probably increase the race distances from the standard though as 5-10 laps goes past way too quickly. The fun of the game is in drafting past other cars and avoiding where possible them doing the same to you. When you get into a draft the controller or wheel starts rumbling and stops when you are out of it. With a KB you wouldn't have that feedback.

I messed up in qualification and finished in 19th because you have 1 out lap followed by 1 flying lap only. Always fun racing through the pack in Heat 4 though. The graphics have become a bit glitchy with the latest NVIDIA driver but it's still a hoot. I'll get Heat 5 at some point which should work better with W10 or W11 eventually.

On the topic of W11, Microsoft have some very odd system requirements floating around. I just checked my UEFI and found the necessary TPM 2.0 setting for the Ryzen 7 3700X* so it should be okay (now shows an active TPM 2.0 device in Windows Device Manager). Not sure I will bother upgrading this system yet though because the new interface is even more horrible from what I have seen and W10 is supported until at least 2025 anyway.
