Missed that news and the survey but glad the sites are still there for the time being. Part of the issue has to be the Steam Workshop integration into TM2. A lot of uploads to maniapark have been ripped off and posted on there by random folk claiming them as their own. I report them to Raffi as and when I see them as he's the moderator for the TM2 workshop.
Google are going to kill it off further by blocking 3rd party cookies in ad frames.

Hey mates the maniapark and carpark crew are in need of knowledgeable folk to assist them with recoding the websites. They are effectively starting from scratch and want someone willing to donate however much time is required to get them up and running in a secure and modern form while maintaining some of the old site look and feel.
"- We are still in need for a competent, experienced sysadmin and we also need an equally competent and experienced dev to develop the sites proper. If you think you're up to the task at hand, do reach out to @pj059 (discord ID: ppetitpr#0745) and if you aren't, spreading the word of this position being open would go some distance towards getting things back on track."
